On the Road with Smashed Drynks: A Visit to Groobarbs Field Kitchen

As a proud member of the Smashed Drynks team, I’m often on the road meeting amazing new customers who are aligned with the same ideals of quality, sustainability, and community as we are. Today’s adventure brings me to Groobarbs Field Kitchen, a hidden gem in the Cheshire countryside that’s redefining dining with its “farm-to-fork” concept. Not only do they grow amazing produce on-site, but they’ve also brought it straight to the table with an innovative dining experience.

I was introduced to this unique venture by Gareth, and after stepping foot into their 5-acre market garden, I could already see why they’re making waves in this space. Let’s dive deeper into the details of Groobarbs Field Kitchen, their inspiring story, and how Smashed Drynks fits into the picture.

Meet Groobarbs Field Kitchen

Nestled in High Legh, Cheshire, Groobarbs Field Kitchen is more than just a dining space; it’s a celebration of fresh, locally grown produce paired with community-building through food. Located at Mag Lane, High Legh, WA16 0AA, this beautifully rustic venue overlooks rows of their thriving market garden, where over 50 different crops are grown throughout the year.

At the heart of Groobarbs is their commitment to sustainability and seasonality. Founded by farmer David and his wife Rebecca, every aspect of their work mirrors their passion for fresh and organic vegetables. Each dish served in their Field Kitchen is inspired by the crops growing just a stone’s throw away, making every meal a true farm-to-fork experience.

What’s on the Menu?

Groobarbs offers a regularly changing set menu that’s a reflection of what’s in season on the farm. From hearty root vegetables in winter to leafy greens and vibrant stone fruits in summer, the food is fresh, simple, and bursting with flavour. Their focus on local suppliers extends to meats and drinks as well, with partnerships with Ken Webb Traditional Farmhouse meats and several Cheshire breweries.

The dining atmosphere is warm and communal, whether you’re enjoying their 5-course dinner set menu or their 3-course Sunday lunch. With such commitment to quality ingredients and an intimate setting, Groobarbs Field Kitchen is quickly becoming a favourite amongst foodies across the UK.
